Travel is amazing. You get to visit incredible places, see and connect with both nature and people, you get to relax or dive straight into fantastic activities and get out of your comfort zone. The experience you have, however, depends on several things most importantly, a seamless stay and amazing food. A major key to an amazing experience!

I had both at Imperial Hotel Kisumu where my friends and I got the incredible opportunity to stay.

Imperial Hotel Kisumu

My first impression of walking into the lobby was old-school beauty. You are immediately served timelessness with a dash of charm and a side of amazing hospitality.  Imperial Hotel Kisumu is the oldest hotel in Kisumu and it has in every way managed to maintain its high standards. It’s no shocker that it has earned itself a prized reputation as one of the best hotels in Kisumu.

The rooms were absolutely perfect. They were a beautiful blend of classic and modern. I just loved how uniquely different they were. Each had different art pieces and furniture.

Whilst there we dined at the Florence Restaurant which had tasty and filling food!

Imperial Hotel Kisumu is conveniently located in town and a stone’s throw away from major attractions in the city so we did not have to hustle as transport was just across the road.

We also checked out Imperial Hotel Express (Imperial Hotel’s partner hotel) which is a new budget hotel in Kisumu town. The hotel has a modern yet simple ambience. I loved the art in Express! The attention to detail in the hotel’s decor is just impeccable.

Express is best suited for business travellers or for travellers staying for a short time in Kisumu and on a budget. It offers continental breakfast as well and also has rooms specifically tailored for disabled guests for easier access.

The staff at both hotels were all so attentive and lovely honestly, they were the best. We were well taken care of.

If you’re ever in Kisumu, you have to stay at Imperial!
