About the Nairobi Archery Club
Nairobi Archery Club was founded in 2015 by a group of friends who were passionate about archery. Over the years, it has grown steadily in membership and has become a welcoming space for both beginners and experienced archers.
The range includes 3D animal targets and Field targets. The distances are measured in both yards and meters, allowing for a full archery experience regardless of skill level.
Every month, members also compete in friendly tournaments to see who tops the club standings and takes home the winner’s trophy, which adds a fun, competitive element to the community.

First Impressions
The range is outdoors and surrounded by greenery, which makes the experience feel peaceful and immersive. It’s a nice break from the noise and pace of the city.

You can take your time, practice, and just enjoy the rhythm of shooting.
The Experience
Nairobi Archery Club offers a relaxed, beginner-friendly archery experience where you shoot at fixed targets under instructor guidance.
One of the things I loved most about the experience was how relaxed and welcoming the environment felt. Even if you have never held a bow before, the instructors guide you through the basics and help you get comfortable quickly.
Each session includes 36 arrows, which is enough time to learn the basics, improve your aim, and even get competitive if you are with a group.
There is something very satisfying about improving your aim round after round, and celebrating small wins when you finally hit the target properly, not forgetting the bragging rights. For the movie buffs like me, it also feels good trying your hand at being a marksman, channelling your inner Katniss Everdeen or Hawkeye, or the Green Arrow (depending on your preferred comic universe).

What I enjoyed most was how relaxed the atmosphere felt. There was enough time between turns to chat, laugh at missed shots, and celebrate the good ones.
I found archery engaging without being physically exhausting, which makes it an easy activity to enjoy even if you are not particularly sporty.
Archery is beginner-friendly, and the Club has training sessions for beginners, which include equipment, basic instruction and guidance while shooting. You do not need to bring anything or have prior experience to enjoy your time.
This experience is perfect for:
- Couples looking for a creative date idea
- Friends looking to do a unique weekend activity
- Solo explorers trying something new
- Anyone looking for alternative things to do in Nairobi
It is especially great if you enjoy activities that are outdoor-focused or those that require focus and patience.

Nairobi Archery Club Rates
At Nairobi Archery Club, non-member rates are KES 2,000 for 36 arrows and KES 1,000 for 18 arrows.
Best Time to Visit Nairobi Archery Club
The Club is open every weekend from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Mornings and late afternoons are preferable because of the cooler weather.
Weekdays are typically quieter at many attractions in Nairobi, but since this range operates mainly on weekends, arriving earlier in the day is a good idea.

Final Thoughts
If you are looking to try archery in Nairobi or a fun outdoor activity, the Nairobi Archery Club is a great option. I would highly recommend archery at the Club as it is affordable, beginner-friendly, and ideal for anyone who wants to try something different in the city.
Quite frankly, I did not expect archery to be this enjoyable, but it turned out to be a fun surprise. I would definitely go back, especially with friends, for a proper mini competition (more like beat them at it!).
